Training

2/6/2013:
Annie again. How do you prefer to train, alone or in a group? Or do you mix it up with a combination of both? I train anytime, anyplace, and with anyone I can. Sometimes it means hitting the streets or the gym alone. Other times it's meeting a buddy or taking a class. This past weekend I met up with a great group called the Mudman's Platoon led by Kevin LaPlatney. Find his blog here: http://www.mudmanreport.com/ His platoon meets at least once a month to train at the state park. For a glimpse at the fun to be had, check out the video from this past weekend's session:

Annie here. It's February, aka the month of heart health, so get out there and work that heart muscle!

My February Challenges:

I'm adding a couple of challenges to my regular workout routine. Since I bailed on the January burpee challenge (I know, not cool), I'm giving it another go. I've adjusted it to the shorter month and my own schedule so I can stay on track. In addition, I'm doing the February crunch challenge. Which again, I've adjusted to fit in with my own workout schedule. Both of these were posted on the SpartanChicked FB page. I'm not reposting as I don't know who owns them to get permission. However, you can create your own challenge based on your fitness level and schedule.

Start with a number that you are comfortable completing, say 15 burpees and 25 crunches. Add 5 more per day for 7 days then take a rest day. After your rest day, start at 25 burpees and 50 crunches. Continue to add 5 burpees, but add 10-15 crunches per day for next 7 days, then rest. Well, you get the idea. I'm no trainer and if you are unsure about pushing yourself or injury, I suggest you consult one first. My point is that you don't have wait for someone else to challenge you, challenge yourself!
